Patricia looks forward to welcome you to La Almunia del Valle boutique hotel in Granada – Sierra Nevada
La Almunia del Valle is a small charming boutique hotel in Granada, certified with the “Q” mark for Tourist Quality.
The hotel is located in the municipality of Monachil – at only 8 km distance from the town center of Granada and the Alhambra and 18 km from the Sierra Nevada ski resort – a beautiful area which due to its high environmental interest is officially protected and conserved. For the visitor is a luxury to enjoy this natural setting, surrounded by high peaks and crossed by the river that gives name to the municipality, river Monachil, where light and silence claim their senses.
The owners themselves, José Manuel Plana and Patricia Merino, supervise personally each detail, and the professional and friendly staff does its best to turn your stay at La Almunia del Valle into an unforgettable and very pleasant experience.
The hotel was restored on the basis of a typical Granada-style country house respecting not only the traditional construction method of Sierra Nevada but also the surrounding environment. One of its main characteristics are the flat and walkable roofs. The terraced main building has different heights and is aligned with the rear hill, offering stunning views to the mountains.

The hotel is very scenic, on the mountainside with great views of the valley. It's 15 minutes from Granada and 30 minutes from the Sierra Nevada ski resort, so the location is perfect. The rooms are great and the owners are very friendly and helpful. The breakfast and dinners in the restaurant are very good. Also other great restaurants nearby - we ate at Casa Fernando (get the Ajo Blanco Soup). In Granada, Puerta del Carmen has great food and is a very trendy place to hang out. I highly recommend it and we went back more than once. D'Oliva is also a lot of fun - Francisco serves great wine and cooks an amazing meal on his camp stove using simple ingredients, while explaining the story of each item. Definitely a place to go for food lovers.

Fabulous hotel, great views / location. Patricia was a fantastic hostess and great cook. Seriously, there is no need to go into Granada for dinner, let Patricia and her team serve you a 5 course dinner in beautiful surroundings and watch to light change over the hills as the sun sets. Dinner is served on the balcony at 8.00pm, at around 8.45pm you start to hear the sound of bells in the distance and then slowly, a herd of goats comes into view, being moved from field to field - idyllic! Room (superior) was great, comfortable bed, sunken bath, ipod docking station, private balcony. You won't regret booking hear, like us, your only regret will be not staying for longer - 3 nights was not enough!

Maunuel and Patricia welcome you into their home as the valued guests that you are. Patricia cooks like a dream, simple? Local produce prepared to order. Lovely wine to accompany. And on a perfect setting. Breakfasts on the terrace equally enjoyable. It's simple, the rooms comfortable, and well priced. All we would have asked for is wifi on the rooms and not just on the terrace. We will come back if we can.
