Slow-food movement at El Secanet

We don’t have a menu in El Secanet since we treat our guests like friends who come te have dinner with us. We serve them the best we have and the best we know, always trying to surprise them, using products we buy at the local markets or grow in our own vegetable garden or henhouse. We like to combine the newest culinary trends with traditional recipes.

The dinners are usually based on several tapas, with a main dish and a home made dessert. In season we serve peahen eggs, geese, mandarin legs, silky chickens… Our salads are very special, consisting of freshly picked vegetables and almost forgotten aromas. The local Almedijar cheeses have a most special place in our list of products. One of our culinary pillars is the olive oil from the mountain range of Vall de Almonacid.

Unique jewels, created outside the circuits of the great chefs and gastronomic routes. At the door there are no stars … They are inside. Real art.

As if it were a canvas, each dish brings imagination, originality and creativity. Rotate the canvas to see it from all angles, it becomes a whole artistic expression. The subtlety of each product, texture, shapes and volumes … Everything is ready for us to participate in a ritual, where everything visual is forgotten when you start to taste it.

The betrayal is brewn in absolute silence … treacherous hands are taking every creation to the mouth, leaving no time not even to contemplate it one last time. And so, again and again. Due to these sounds, which cross the doors, the artist doesn’t fail. The table witnesses unspeakable pleasures.

…”uanfuá” mint tea, naked citrus, truffle, candle, rosemary, vinaigrettes, silence, shadows, liquid gold, carpaccio, pasta “para arriba”… a sensory spectacle …

We rediscovered the word ‘lunch’ and it scares us, later we got hooked. Wood fire, shadows of Sunday, beautifully arranged concentric circles, the time, an order, it is noon… and the treacherous hand of the night, now is the one that creates and commands. And how it creates, some boletus mushrooms and… Your taste buds will go crazy!

Each guest room at El Secanet has its own name:

LES ORONETES
Room with double bed and enough space to put a baby crib and an extra bed. Bathroom with rain shower.

EL PICAYO
Spacious room with with 1,5 x 2 meters double bed and possibility to put up two extra beds, decorated in pastel shades. Bathroom with tub and shower.

LES MAMELLETES
Garden view double room. In the background you can see two small hills called “Les mamelletes de Quart”, hence the name of the room. It has an attic for reading and relaxing and an independent terrace for sunbathing. Equipped with a full bathroom. Possibility to put up two extra beds.

LA PALMERA
Garden view double room. It has an attic with library for relaxing and reading. Large independent terrace for sunbathing. Shower bath with views to the garden.

All rooms are provided with air conditioning and heating.

From Valencia:
Head north, merging onto V-21, direction Sagunt. Take exit 1A to merge onto V-23 toward Sagunt/Sagunto/A-23/Teruel. Continue onto A-23. Take exit 14 toward Torres-Torres/Algimia/Alfara/Serra. At the roundabout, take the 1st exit onto N-234a and on the next roundabout take the 3rd exit onto CV-327. Turn right onto Passeig de la Glorieta, then left onto Carrer Torres-Torres. The hotel is located at number 25.

From Madrid:
Exit Madrid merging onto E-901/A-3 (signs for Arganda/Valencia). Take exit 340 to merge onto A-7 toward Barcelona. Take exit 480 for V-23/Sagunto toward Sagunt/A-23/Teruel. Merge onto A-23/V-23 and continue to follow A-23. Take exit 14 toward Torres-Torres/Algimia/Alfara/Serra.
