The art of care and attention to others. Our team is formed by smiling and friendly people, who lavished a close but discreet treatment, totally dedicated to the welfare of the client.

Kitchen and cellar open to customers. Farmhouses in the kitchen has always been the meeting point and from the beginning we have tried to respect this tradition. During the day it is a singular “chef’s table”, from which you can see the team in action, exchange recipes and “tricks”, meet people and make friends and where cooking classes with renowned chefs are organized. The winery, the fifteenth century, is open to customers at any time of day.

The fifteenth-century farmhouse has been restored to create a unique and cozy boutique run by its owner Jemma Markham Hotel. It offers large rooms with fireplaces library, grand piano and an interesting collection of paintings, lithographs and sculptures

The hotel is surrounded by its romantic gardens of roses means an organic farm of 80 hectares, with its own production of olive oil and vegetables. There is a section dedicated solely to the cultivation of flowers for the floral decoration of the hotel, another element that our team takes care of every detail.

In line with the slow food movement and zero food miles, we serve a traditional country cuisine with modern touches based on seasonal produce from our own organic garden. Our changing menu showcases the best natural ingredients for an authentic farm-to-table experience. Typical dishes include traditional casseroles, shoulder of local lamb served with braised vegetables and ‘patatas al mortero’. Rice dishes feature fresh fish and shellfish brought up from the Ebro Delta while local artisan cheeses are a growing highlight on our menus. Desserts, sweets and ice creams based on fruits and nuts in season are all homemade.

To complement the seasonal menu, we offer a changing daily “specials” that make use of the very best ingredients from the market, fishing ports or vegetable plot that day.

With advance notice we are happy to prepare delicious, balanced dishes for celiacs, vegetarians and for those with any other special dietary requirements.

Restaurant El Visco: The split-level stable of the original estate has been converted into a handsome and intimate restaurant with capacity for 55 diners. The gentle lighting and evening candlelight create a convivial atmosphere that is at once elegant and relaxed for guests who may wish to dine alone, in couples or larger groups. Service is, as you would expect, warm, efficient and knowledgeable with many of staff fluent in more than one language.

As you would expect from a welcoming home, each of our 17 rooms has a distinctive character yet all share the same standard of comfort and attention to fine detail. All the rooms have deeply inviting beds, crisp linen, fresh flowers and wonderful views while the elegant suites have a private sitting room.

We have furnished our rooms with unique pieces and treasured finds from our travels including beautiful rugs, a Klimt lithograph, an Arts and Crafts wardrobe, a Biedermeier table, an Art Deco lamp, an Indian headboard and exclusive Designer Guild fabrics.

Our boutique hotel is surrounded by grounds of 220 acres and bordered by a kilometre of river where you can walk, paddle or swim in the most wonderful rock formations, sculpted by the water over centuries.

The estate offers a great choice of walks for all tastes while the dynamic working farm is a hive of activity throughout the year as we tend our 2000 olive trees (empeltre and arbequina varieties), terraces of almonds, fields of barley or wheat, as well as an abundance of fruit, vegetables and herbs that supply our restaurant with fresh produce daily. We adhere by the strictest standards so that our produce is certified 100% organic by the CAAE (Committee for Organic Agriculture in Aragón).

We take great pride in our gardens, having designed every detail to enhance the pleasure of our guests. Over three protected levels there are romantic corners with tables and chairs, arched walkways, rose-covered pergolas, lush lawns, mature trees for summer shade and benches strategically placed to enjoy the views. The gentle murmur of water and the scent of over 100 rose varieties – at their very best between May and June – will soothe the most weary soul
